Rock Photography

Rock photography is fast, furious and fun. Usually you are allowed the first 3 songs and no flash which means that you are reliant on available lighting. Pop bands are usually lit up like Christmas trees so you can crank up the shutter speed and get great sharp results. However Rock bands usually have darker sets and when you’re just starting out it’s unlikely that you’re going to have access to the bigger concerts with professional ligting so in a dimly lit venue you will be working in tricky lighting.
This is highly competitive, there are many photographers hoping to make the grade but the market is limited. It’s great fun however and I still get a buzz from every concert I shoot.
